Terms of sale and use

These terms apply when you use sweetfigsnursery.com or buy from Sweet Figs Nursery ("we", "us"). By placing an order or using the site you agree to them, together with the shipping policy, the returns and refunds policy and the privacy policy.

Orders and payment

• Prices are in US dollars. The total, including shipping, is shown before you pay.
• Payment is taken by Stripe at checkout. Your order is accepted when the payment is confirmed and we send a confirmation email.
• Stock is limited and live. If we can't fill an order — a counting mistake, a pricing error, a tree that didn't make the grade — we may cancel it and refund you in full.
• You must be 18 or older to place an order.

Live plants

• Plants vary. Photos show the variety, not the individual cutting or tree you will receive; size, shape and colour differ with season and growing conditions.
• Ripening times, hardiness zones and flavour notes describe how a variety behaves for us in California. Your climate will differ, and we can't promise the same results.
• What we do guarantee — arrival condition and true-to-name — is set out in the returns and refunds policy.
• You're responsible for checking that fig plants may be brought into your area and for any local rules that apply once they arrive.

Fig School and other information

The growing guides, variety chart and other material on this site are general information from our own experience, offered in good faith. They aren't professional advice, and we can't be responsible for how a plant fares under your care.

The fig wasp map and things you send us

• When you report a sighting, you give us permission to display the name, zip code and date you entered on the public map.
• Report only what you actually saw. We may edit or remove any report, for any reason.
• The map is a community record, not a scientific survey. Don't rely on it alone when deciding what to plant.
• Don't misuse the site: no automated submissions, no attempts to break or overload it.

Our content

The text, photographs, illustrations and design of this site belong to Sweet Figs Nursery. You're welcome to link to it and to quote short passages with credit. Please ask before reusing anything more.

Limits of liability

Apart from the guarantees in our returns policy, plants and information are provided as they are, without other warranties. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses such as lost crops or the cost of other plants. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be waived.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, and any dispute will be heard in the California courts.
